Aromatic Tea to Boost the Spirit

Updated: Dec 31, 2021

As the season changes to cold and blustery, what can we do to encourage warmth and comfort in our lives?

Personally, I enjoy creating an aromatic tea for the season. Something to savor each crispy morning as I make my prayers of gratitude.

This month I have created a blend that is aromatic, spicy, and supportive to the digestive and respiratory systems.

I have blended Roman Chamomile, Cinnamon Bark, Ginger Root, Orange Peel, and Vanilla Bean to create a comforting and supportive blend to get through the fall and winter season. I chose these herbs because

1. They are easy to get a hold of.

2. They are supportive of seasonal needs.

3. They are delicious!

What's so beneficial about these herbs?

Roman Chamomile is calming to the nervous and digestive system. It also helps to tone the organs which is important this time of year when we tend to eat heavy, dense holiday foods.

Cinnamon Bark increases warmth, stimulating our digestive system. It is also a tonic herb.

Ginger Root is also warming and increases circulation in the digestive and respiratory system.

Orange Peel is an antioxidant that's full of vitamin C. It's also a bitter which aids the gallbladder in breaking down fats.

Vanilla Bean is aromatic, calming and supportive to the digestive system as well.

You can now see why I chose these herbs for my fall blend! I'm trying to support my body through the cold and flu season as well as the heavy meals I'm going to be eating around the holidays.

How do I get the most out of my cup?

I find drinking this aromatic tea blend in the morning and evening to be beneficial. As I enjoy my tea I take the time to do a mindfulness meditation.

I find gratitude for my cup, for the aroma, the sight and benefits I’m about to enjoy. Then, I slowly and silently drink my tea for a few moments before I continue with my day.

How can you bring this practice into your life?

My goal is to find simple ways each day that I can aid my body through my life and I'd like to help you do the same. If this sounds like your cup of tea, let Peach Stone Spa find ways to bring herbalism and plant medicine into your daily life with Herbal and Self Care Coaching!
